We’re a family owned and operated business based in Macclesfield, dedicated to providing exceptional and trustworthy home improvements to owner-occupiers, landlords and hosts across the Adelaide Hills.

Our story

From Vancouver Island back to the Hills.

Blake and Jess first ran In A Pinch Handyman & Labour Services in Canada from 2021 to 2023. After moving home to the Adelaide Hills, they’re thrilled to be back serving their own community.

As locals, we understand the unique challenges Hills properties face: older homes, heavy winter rain, gum leaves in every gutter and the annual push to get ready for fire season. We bring a holistic approach to property maintenance, so every carpentry project and repair is done with precision and care.

And when a job needs another licensed trade, we bring in people from our trusted local network, so you only ever need to make one call.

Meet Blake & Jess.

Husband and wife, tradie and office manager. Some people struggle to work with their partner. Not these two.

Blake Coleman

Blake has an extensive background as a project manager in renovations and maintenance, and as a site supervisor in residential building. His knack for problem-solving and hands-on skill make him an exceptional maintenance contractor and 2nd fix carpenter.

He sharpened his carpentry on an off-grid timber-frame home build in Canada, learning from a traditional timber framer with over 40 years’ experience. There isn’t much Blake can’t do when he sets his mind to it.

Jess has been in customer service for over 17 years. She thrives on making sure clients are happy and their needs are heard, and keeps communication clear from the first enquiry to the final invoice.
